Jay Seeger
Attorney at LawJay Seeger has practiced law since 1978. He is a graduate of Purdue University and a cum laude graduate of the Indiana University School of Law in Indianapolis. He is licensed to practice in all state courts in both Indiana and Florida. He is also admitted to practice in the United States Supreme Court, United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, and the United States District Courts for Northern and Southern Indiana. Jay is a Registered Civil Mediator, and he has received the designation of Civil Trial Advocate from the National Board of Trial Advocacy. He has been elected a fellow of the Indiana Bar Foundation, and he is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the American Bar Association, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Indiana Bar Association, the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association, the Florida Bar and the Tippecanoe County Bar Association.
Jay focuses his practice in the areas of elder law, Medicaid planning and asset preservation, wills, trusts and probate administration, new business start-ups and real estate and zoning law. He is a frequent lecturer with the Small Business Development Center on business organizations, and he regularly lectures various groups on estate planning and asset preservation. Jay is also actively involved with numerous charitable and public service organizations. He currently serves on the board of directors of Lafayette Transitional Housing Center, Inc., the Gus Macker charity basketball tournament, and the Camp Tecumseh YMCA Endowment Committee.
Jay was named an Indiana Super Lawyer in the area of Elder Law for the third consecutive year (2004, 2005, 2006). Indiana Super Lawyers are selected by Law & Politics Media based upon a survey of 14,000 Indiana attorneys. Only 5% of all Indiana lawyers were chosen as Super Lawyers.Email: jay@shf-law.net
